A good old Friend who lived in Kansas City but moved out to Washington DC was in town over the weekend and wanted to get the old crew back together. Much of the old crew has since moved out of town, however we were hoping to go up to some breweries in the crossroads as that was one of my friends favorite things to do when he was in town.
However the old crew has also gotten old and we are now parents and mostly live in the Midtown Plaza area of Kansas City. Further it was a scorching hot and humid august day so many of the outdoor spaces had to be knocked off the list. We opted to go to a place that was walking distance for a number of us Brewers Corner.
The space is huge and has room for kids to be kids. Ordering food and drinks at brewers kitchen is closer to a brewery style of ordering so you can walk around easily, kids can move between places without disturbing tons of other people, and there are fun giant yard games for them to play.
Being walking distance from home also had the added bonus that I could actually have 3-4 beers instead of 1-2 as we didn’t need to worry about drinking and driving and putting my 6 month old son’s life in danger by getting behind a thousand pound machine impaired.
Would highly recommend checking out brewers corner if you have not been. If you have kids and live in the North Hyde park, Union Hill, or Longfellow neighborhoods, this is a great place to go up to walk up to in the middle of the day with kids in tow, grab a beer with a few friends, have some great food, and walk back home.
